Default Can right-hand drive headlights be adjusted to fit left-hand drive car (facelift)

    Hi fellow Vectra owners,

Primary question is if headlights from right-hand drive car can be adjusted to fit left-hand drive one? The car is a facelift.

[SPAM] The actual reason is that my original (chrome non-xenon, most basic) headlights have become yellowish. I tried polishing them with minimal result, next step will be to actually put clear coat on them by a professionalist, but for that price, I can find a set of second hand black headlights that look quite good. Only problem is, that I don't know their origin, there is a good chance they are from a car form the UK, so I don't want to buy them, unless I am certain they can be adjusted. I've looked at the forum, there seem to be a lot of posts about similar stuff, but nothing answers my question exactly. There are some screws, that adjust the side-to-side position of the headlights, but are they enough and is the adjustment there the only difference between left and right hand drive headlights for the Vec C?

Any input will be greatly appreciated!

I had this on my Volvo had to get a RHD headlight as my LHD headlight was broken but i just swapped the projector part over which i knew was correct (being LHD) instead of the RHD one. Perhaps you can do the same with the vectra lights.

Actually, going to the black headlight version is a mod I wanted ever since I bought the car and I am really looking forward to seeing how she will look... A follow up question - Is there a way to determine, just by looking at the headlights, for which standart they were produced for?

no there isn't...but it is safe to say if the seller is from the UK chances are they are RHD.... If you buy aftermarket headlight units some of them are made for both LHD and RHD. they'll have a switch you can flip to to either LHD or RHD... the seller will state it on the details for the headlight. So you'll have to look for a set like that... or just buy OEM ones that are set for LHD... failing that you can always get headlights from any other LHD country such as Germany, The Netherlands, France, Italy, Spain, etc etc etc.. basically mainland Europe

All the sellers are from Bulgaria, where I am from, but here it's no-laws land, so they will say anything in order to get you to buy, and since our market is flooded with cheap Vauxhalls (because of the right hand drive), a lot of them end up being sold for parts and when you buy from the bulgarian equivalent of ebay, you have no guarantee what you will get. If there is no way of knowing just by looking at the headlight (part number or something), I will not bother, since new OEM headlight cost like third of the whole car.

logon to your ebay account and look worldwide... than make sure you get stuff from either Germany, The Netherlands, Belgium or France...
if all that fails you could just go to http://ecat24.com/opel/catalog/models/1/ and type in your VIN number.... that should give you the part number for the a single headlight, you can also look up what part is used in LHD cars..write down or copy the part numbers (for the NS and the OS) and either search your ebay for those numbers or use them to verify the parts you can find locally.

    it is that simple really

Long story short (reffering only to facelift headlamps):
-it can be done ONLY by tearing appart(practically opening) the headlamp aka removing the "glass" and then turning around by 180 (angular) degrees , horizontally, one specific tin band (which focuses the light accordingly to LHD or RHD). Once headlamp opened things will be obvious to manipulate and quite easy.
