Default Silver door stripe, whats what??

    Hi guys,

Just tying to figure out what the door stripe thing is all about.

I have a 54 preface sri cdti 150 in silver, and it has no silver door stripes running along the bottom of the window.

Now i know the the face lift ones have them as standard, but ive seen them on LS one's petrrols and older ones than mine.

Now were they standard? or optional extra? or should mine have them on?

I do want them on there because i think they make a huge differance to the look.

    Thanks Alex

Any ideas how much the are from vx, or if there is an alternitive to get the same look??

Also any one got any pictures of a silver sri one from side on? with or with out the stripes?

They were standard but vauxhall decided that not everyone should have them but will still charge the same amount for the car

Would have thought an SRI would have these but not sure. Here's some on ebay, quite cheap as usualy asking £100. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VECTRA-C-CHROM...item3f03107554

The stripes are an odd one. Available on prefacelift SRI's upto late 2004/early 2005, then removed, then reinstated on SRI's for the facelift October '05. Crazy.

The doors are very easy but you need the full quarter windows to get that chrome strip in place, as its part of the frame.

I don't think they suit the darker coloured sri's anyway.
My 54 sxi black looks better without the chrome but my 06 sri in silver lightning looks good with it.

Yea, think my ultra blue looks better without them too. Mine came without them may 05.
