New to the forum but have used the wealth of knowledge to do some general maintenance and fact finding.

Doing the timing belt on a 1.9 CDTi 150 and there's conflicting info. If I use a Cam locking tool then the cam timing mark is either at 3 or 9oclock and the locking pin has clicked. Will the new timing belt lines line up on the crank properly?

Using the factory markings on the crank how can you guarantee the cam is timed properly when there's no mark on the case?
