Signum 2.0T exhaust

Hi all,

I went through the forum to find some guidance on my costly problem. By the looks of it, I'm the only one with the rusted exhaust system in my '03 Signum or the only one who declines to pay £975 (or so) for the new one (whole system).

I fell off the chair when the chap at Vx passed me the quote !!!!

Apparently, that's the price - Kwikfit quoted more or less the same. They charge the same abroad - what the hell? it's stainless steel not gold.

I'm hunting for a second hand one (haven't found any so far), and I'm aware I could get something made, but it'd still be a bit too much. Everyone makes exhausts from S/S, but is there anyone out there who makes them of mild steel? there's no chance I'll keep the car for more than 2 years anyway.

Either or, I just thought I'd share this, and I'd welcome any ideas or comments or an offer from someone who's replaced the stock one with a high performance kit

P.S. I guess the ones from Veccy Estate fits as well - but I've never seen one with Z20 NET engine anyway!

was it at Vauxhalls? or is it a custom one?

No not a vauxhall one, but I mean for half the price, you get twin exit and a nice rumble

yep - the stock one is twin exit too (that's the reason of the @£%&# price.

That'd be my last resort option
I really want to drag the costs down, and look for other alternatives, as I'm sure I'll have to get rid of the car in 2 years time (at latest).

Either 2nd hand or about £450 for a custom made one will be your only options.

A powerflow dealer will do you a full system for about £360. Your best bet by far mate. MIJ in Walsall wuoted me that for my 2.0T Siggy.

Are the stock exhausts made of S/S? how the hell do they rust after just 6 years? I need to raise it with Vx - it's worth giving it a go for a grand

£1000? I bought a full cat back system from Vauxhall for a friends Signum 2.0T earlier this year.

Twin rear silencer was £340 inc VAT, centre section was £148 inc VAT.
