    Default 1.8 vvti engine noisy

I have a 1.8 vvti petrol Vectra and for the past couple of months the engine has started sounding more noisy than normal. Also if you come to a junction and its on a slight hill and you change down into 2nd and pull away from lowish revs the engine makes a loud grumbling sound.I have had the car from new so i know that i didn't used to make this noise.I took it in to the dealers but as usual they said that they couldn't fault it.In general the car starts and runs perfect(loads of power) and theres no engine management lights on the dash.It sounds to me like the manifold is slightly leaking but the dealers said they couldn't see anything.Any idea as to what i should do next.Has anyone else with a vvti engine had this problem?Help!

Is it also noisy on start up? If so that is exactly how mine was and it just got worse until it needed a top-end rebuild. Noone wanted to rebuild the vvt so I put an astra engine in myself.

If it is I would take it to vauxhall straight away and kick-up fuss. They found no problem with mine either at first....

Heard about a few issues of this nature with this engine.
Getting more rattley. In some instances, the cambelts have come off!

My old mans is getting worse, and he has it booked in now
