CD70 & New Maps - What do they 'Add'

I have the 2005 CD70 disc and am thinking of geting the newer version (2009/2010 or whatever it is!)

Do the discs only add new roads, or do they change the look or feel of the visuals in any way? (i.e. 3D view, etc, etc)

New roads, change the display if I remember correctly and a few other things.

I believe there are three available discs...
a) map disc - contains upto date maps and poi's...inserted all the time except during updates.
b) language disc - as it says...only required if you forget how to speak english. (used once and then put away safe)
c) software update disc - further options such as tmc, ext in / aux in and general software tweaks...only need to use it once, so best to borrow a friends copy...don't make a copy as this is piracey.

If I remember rightly, Navteq changed their TMC provider / format in 2007 / 2008 when they were bought by Nokia.
I believe later versions of TMC isn't as good for rural areas but may be better for densely populated towns and cities.
