Rear control arm bushings

Afternoon all,

Looking for help again as always. I have been told i need to replace the above. My mechanic says that he thinks last time he tried to do it he had to get new rear control arms at £80 a time from VX (he is confirming this for me).

Just thought i would ask you knowledgeable people what the situation is? Can i just replace the bushings? or do anyone other VX do a set of control arms?

Are we talking about the "Rose" bushes that are on the control arms? The control arms about £60ish each from dealer, when I got mine they had the "Rose" bushes on them. I think you can get them separate thou... I've seen them on Ebay.

I will have to check. He just said the rear control arm bushings...

Are they really called rose bushes?

Yep, they are pivot inside both ends of the control arms. No idea why they're called that though. Its a bit of a hassle to get the bushes off, thats why I just had the arms replaced.

So, you can replace just the bush on the top links then???

Not that I know off. The control arms are the same the range over (I think!) its only the springs, dampers etc that may be different.

The rear upper control arms are the same part for all vectra -c's, signums, saab's & fiat tempera lol...

You can get them from Andrew page's at half the cost of a dealer part.
