Marks on dipstick

Strange question I know! but just out of curiosity, I was checking oil level today and noticed (not noticed it before) that approx' 1st notch down from the max' on dipstick there appears to be two very fine cut outs on the sides of the dipstick (almost as if its been sliced with a knife so to speak) as said right near the 1st notch down, is this supposed to signify anything? btw it's on a 2003 2.2 (Z22SE) as i say just wondering out of curiosity really.

Just in from the top field cause that’s where I keep the old bus. No extra marks on the dippy thing sorry Pete ..
