Afternoon off

On wednesday I had the day off work to take the car for a wheel alignment.
I got home at 1:30 so I thought I'd get in the garage and do a few things to the vec.

First I replaced the tax disc holder that had fallen off.

Then I moved to the rear and took the "VECTRA" off the chrome strip. The chrome is stained (between the letters) in a couple of places, so, once I get time, ill be spraying it, black probably.




forgot to get some after pics (will get them up soon).

Next I thought Id have a clean under the bonnet. As it was quite dirty.




Cleaned it up a bit, again forgot to get after pics.

I then took off the engine cover for a bit of work!!!!

sanded and primered



Then out came the colour!!!!!


Due to the light when I was takin the pics they look slightly darker, its suppose to be pretty much the same as the lips on the wheels.

Just needs to be clear coated and polished and I can get it back on.

While waitin for layers of paint to go off I pulled the irmy Silhouette off the grill and took it to bits. Its now sittin in primer, ready for some colour. Pink maybe.

Very nice mate. Its a very manly Pink. Seriously though it looks good, originally I thought I prefered the Green you were considering but the Pink works. Nice job.

I think the pink will look bit better when the car is cleaned and the sun hits it, cus the car turns a purple colour.
The wheels are just pink tape on the lips at the minute cus the wheels need a good refurb (kerb scuffs round the lips etc) and i cant afford it yet, so the tape will do for now.

To be honest I'm not a fan of the pink, I think red would have looked great but the pink is certainly going to be very individual! Good handy work though. I might spray my engine cover red and claim I've got a red top!

that looks ace, what paint are you using does it have to be heat resistant? might do mine red to keith

im just usin normal car paint at the min, ill see how it goes once its on and had a bit of heat applied.
If it doesnt work out, its easy enough to repaint with something more suitable.

will let u all know the results.
