    confused confirmation dmf

    hello boyo's,
    right i have a vec c 2.2 pre f/lift 2002 and when is was sat idleing it sounded like it was a diesel with this annoying rattleing which i thought was the release bearing. anyway few days later the noise went i drove it about a mile up the road to me m8s and when i come back i put it in 1st accelerated put in 2nd went into second but would not drive well it would but EXTREMERLY slow so when its in gear and u go past 1500rpm it over reves and does not drive the car. now who thinks this is the dual mass flywheel???

    my cdti needs a flywheel im doing it this week mine rattles on idle and when slightly pressing the clutch also on light throttle the car jumps about like a misfire the flywheel can cause some really strange problems

    hmmmm well its abit misterious iv showen it to 2 rac patrol guys who said it was the dm flywheel un then me m8 said it was the clutch then me mums fella goes oh yea gear box if shagged so i said bull **** but from various posts un the google word everything points to the dm flywheel just wondering if anybody has had the same prob as me and if it was the dmf. also how much is the dmf??

    the cdti one is 380 plus vat from vaux, I managed to get one from a mate at a parts place with his discount I got it for around 165 should have been 299 then you have to decide if you want a new clutch makes sense while gear box is out. Some people have reported that their flywheel has only lasted 10k miles

    looking around luk supply vaux with the dmf for 2.2 luk part number 415 0235 10 try calling your local motor factors

    yea iv been told about the dmf factory ones are crap and that you can get a 'modified' one that will never go tits up? hmm not a bad price either as the rac fella said ohhhh about 1100 quid that will cost ya pal.

    Sounds more like the clutch is slipping mate!

    The DMF does make a rattling noise at idle,and normally goes off when you depress the clutch pedal.But the car does drive normally with a knackered DMF.
