You will have to go to a dealer and have them check, they will plug in tech 2 and see what version you have, then check against TIS to see if there have been any later versions.
Mine is a late 2007 57 plate 1.9 CDTi 150, and when I bought it in December, I borrowed my dealers tech 2 to see if there are any upgrades, and there was 3 updates.
I then, with the help of the master tech, downloaded these to my car.
when my 05 went in for the no.3 injector plug issue - they checked for ecu s/w updates and there were "quite a few new versions since mine" the guy said..
he also said that they dont check for software updates on services etc unless there is a specific request or problem - as its chargable as a seperate item
AntSSSS - Just out of interest, what is the damage for an update?
The dealer should'nt be charging for a software update!!! Ive read somewhere on the VX website that software updates are free of charge. If they try and charge you phone vx customer care and get there arse kicked!
Always get mine done FOC, but the service schedule does call for the car to be chaecked with tech for fault codes.
They release software updates for cars that have running issues. Not all cars need them.
If your going in just to ask for software update, a dealer has the right to charge to cover their labour.
Nuff said...look at the last bullet point..Software updates are FOC!

I'm going to ask about this later, when I ring about the handbrake recall
