My dad finds out this week if his job is safe at Rolls Royce, apparently they're getting rid of 2300 employees globally

Its just crazy. Surely things cant be that bad. I went shopping with the misses a few days ago at a place called 1 stop shopping centre in Perry Barr Birmingham and the shops that will be empty now are:
- PriceLess Shoe's,
- Roseby's,
- Klick Photopoint (someone told me they were on there way out too),
- possibly Curry's and Comet soon as apparently that group is in trouble,
- I walked into Butron Menswear and one side of the store was empty !
- One of the women's shop's have also closed (i think its Select).

Very worrying. Midlands and moreso Brumingham seems to be hit well hard!

Someone was telling me that too, but it doesnt seem likely as its always blooooming heaving in there! But I did notice a big price cut over xmas! Maybe a sign!

My sister was on the phone last night, she is a rep for a plumbing company who want their staff to work 5 days per week and they will only get paid for 3 of them!?!?

I would think that they didnt explain it in that way, or nobody would turn up Thurs & Fri ... more likely that they are getting a 40% pay cut, but equally bad news

Probably correct but that was how she explained it to us, possibly through anger i would imagine
