Air box mod

Anyone here done the air box mod by removing short cowling inside,and has that piece for sale or free haha. Want to put mine back as previous owner has done mod by looks of it.

Looks like it has let salty water through the air box onto the MAF now i cant get it to pass mot for emissions,Have changed Lambda on manifold managed to get CO levels right down now cant get HC level down Mechanic thinks air leak but cant find any.

Its very highly doubtful that the air box mod alone has caused this. Maybe the car previously had a very oily air filter fitted (K&N maybe)..??
