    Default Royal mail postage problems.....

morning all, quick one for you.....i sold an item on ebay 2 weeks ago,as with all my items i post them 1st class recorded upto the value of £36 as royal mail states its the right service for the value in the parcel, now they surply you with a tracking number so you can see when the other person gets your parcel, the winning bidder has still not recieved my parcel and when you go on royal mails track and trace web site, type in tracking number, they say they have lost my item!!! they have sent me a claim form,on said form it asks for the invoice/reciept of item in parcel... i havnt got it!! any ideas what i do next? surly i dont have to just bend over and take it.

You could print off the e-bay transaction or if they used Paypal, the receipt for that.

sounds like the for you have got is if you are the customer (i.e. your buying the item).
Have a look if there's a different one for the sender, and if not like above, try printing off the ebay/paypal transaction.

also, the ebayer has now put a dispute in against me so my accounts frozen as there blaiming me for royal mail being sheet, what happens if i send royal mail a reciept for any item so i get my cash back off them and then the real parcel turns back up again,do they open it? do they send it to the address on it so the ebayer not only manages to shaft me by getting a refund through paypal but also gets to keep the item?

Hello mate, your parcel will go to a lost items centre where if they feel like it they will have a look for it and if not they won't. It may have been opened already and gone to the auction they have for "lost" items. Royal mail are useless I have had lots of problems with them before. When they failed to deliver to a redirected address i had given them and paid for the redirection they said it was my fault for moving house! Now they have taken to dropping parcels on my front doorstep instead of delivering them. Thay have done this several timea with valuable parcels when either me or my girlfriend have been at the house! They are a bunch of thieving barstewards! Just my opinion ofcourse!

did u get a receipt from the post office when u posted item,
u will need that receipt if u havan't got it then in all honesty i doubt u will get anywhere with the claim.
as for ebay u will have to refund the money before ebay take it direct out of paypal and leave u a bill for doing it.

Royal Mail accept either the ebay invoice or PayPal receipt
I would suggest you use th ebay invoice, as Royal Mail have a habit of taking the lower amount!

Contact ebay and advise them that you need access to your account so that you can commence a Royal Mail claim for the missing item, which is now showing on their website as "Lost in processing" and is now being submitted on a P58 to Royal Mail

Refund your buyer then that should sort out your account issue. If they paid via paypal then print the transaction off and that will do Royal mail. If you cannot do that print off the auction page for the item and give them that
