Signum hatch rattle

My Signum has been to the dealers three times for hatch rattle and they seem unable to solve the problem!!! In fact following it's last visit a week age it is 10 times worse. Anyway I'm not that technical so have not got a clue what is causing this problem. would have thought Vauxhall trained staff could detect and repair though. Does anyone know what is causing this mind numbing rattle so that i can at least sound like I know what I'm talking about when I take it back in?

Have you/they tried adjusting the striker plate? Where the tailgate lock locks onto, may need adjusting. You'll see a couple of Torx screws on it that you can loosen it with, and it has little markings on the edge to let you see what position the plate is in. Set it all centred up, then start to make little adjustments forwards and backwards from there. You'll know when you get it right as if you go to far in one direction it'll lock, but not cancel the boot open light, and to far the other way it just won't close.

That's what I adjusted when I had the same thing at it sorted it.

Are there rubber stops on the outside edge that can be adjusted too?

Of sorts, but I found that they never really did much to help a rattle - they didn't adjust enough so the striker plate was the only thing that worked for me.
