Default Just tried some very old school wax...

Collinite 845 Insulator wax. Resisted the urge to carry on with my trusty Nattys, and tried this wierd concoction. First impressions? seems ok, my car was beading nicely from a previous coat of Nattys from a few weeks ago, but thought I would try this. Probably rain tonight, so I will see how it goes.
Its a wierd substance, not easy to get out of the bottle ( even after keeping it warm in a bucket of hot water ), and takes a bit of rubbing on to spread it out easily, but came off easy enough. Didnt smell as nice as my Nattys though!
Started drizzling half way through as usual!, but went over so I could finish. Got the week off this week so if I can get t keep the car and its dry , I will give it another coat- winters coming!.

Did you know it was used, and still might be for insulating components on pylons "etc". Presumably to keep the weather out of the electrical curcuit.

Makes you wonder whats in it doesnt it? must be a high proportion of petroleum products, judging by the warnings on it about naked flames!!!!!!

I got it along with some Carlack stuff in a kit from CleanYourCar. Seems pretty gloopy, so I didn't get as far as giving it a go. When I feel a little fitter I'll try it, bit under the weather at the moment so didn't fancy lashing it on only to run out of steam taking it off.

I loved it when I had it, very easy on and off and lasted well too. Good VFM IMO

Another vote for it here,to make it easier to get out of the bottle, get a cap (looks like a nipple) off one of the sports drinks then you can squeeze a small amount at a time out.

This heavy duty wax was originally developed for use by electrical power companies for protection against high voltage power failures, fires and explosions.

Well, it did rain, and the beading is a lot smaller than what I am used to with the Nattys, dont know whether that is a good thing or not?, but I will use it up ( maybe another coat tomorrow if I get a chance being the kids taxi etc. ), but once its gone I will be back on the Nattys , dont think I will get this again. But its horses for courses isnt it. Two coats of this stuff is supposed to last for 6 months?!?!?!? alledgedly, will be interesting to see if theres any truth in it?
I still wonder whats in it.........
