What's this switch?

Hi, we didn't get an owners manual book with the car, the switch 2nd from the right in this pic (the pic is off this forum, we don't have the map reading light unit)



what is it meant to do, pressed it with the light on and off, and can't figure out what it is

from left to right from my mind (dont want to go and check)

reading light, interiour light off (when door open), interiour light on (when door closed), reading light.

The light in the picture is the Police spec unit so dont think it would be in the manual anyway. The Elite one only has 3 buttons I believe.

Police spec unit!?! There is'nt such a unit. That light unit is in my GSI, the 2 outside buttons are map reading lights, one of the middle ones turns the courtesy light on when in the vehicle and the other turns it off even with the doors open.

I'll try and find the info. Did you have yours from new? For sure, the GSi might of come with the 3 button but not the 4 from memory.

Iv had it for 6 weeks but its never been a police vehicle and the rest of the car is bog standard according to 2003 GSI spec, it was maybe done away with on a certain model year.
