    Default Door Pins (Fitting)

Anybody ever replaced door pins on a Vectra? How easy are they to do?

    not quite....

get a small screwdriver and prise out the red segment on the VX pin, that will release the shaft and let the door pin pull up and off..

then using an allen key, tighten your new alloy pins back on to the steel rod at the height you want them to be at

Absolute doddle m8 less than 10 mins to do all 4.

Get a tiny screwdriver and prise the red clips out of the original pins, then the plastic pin just lifts off.

You're left with a metal stalk.

Put the new pin on the stalk and tighten the grub screws to secure. Lock door to check the position of the pin. Adjust if necessary.

    Stand back and admire

As above. Piece of ****. Even I can do it. You may have to chop the rear ones down a bit as the rod is at an angle which means they sit higher than the fronts ones.

Only if it bothers you obviously.

Or just adjust the front ones to the same level... No sawing (and therefore resulting damage of internal trim in my case) involved

They sat too high in mine. For my liking anyway. I trimmed the actual pins in the garage so no chance of damaging the trim.

And if you're a bit of a perfectionist and don't want the grub screws showing - http://www.vectra-c.com/forum/showthread.php?t=20081
