not much difference of the mark, but the mid-range is were you would notice the difference and the smoothness of the v6 is great.
it is also the quietest diesel i have ever had
i'm sure someone will be along soon maybe with more stats but hope this helps a bit
thanks neil
Off the line the lighter 1.9 is very slightly quicker but the big old V6 lump soon catches up
In normal driving the V6 is easier as it is less "frantic" On the motorway it pulls like a train and the torque is superb.
For thrashing around back roads a boxed 1.9 is a very quick car, me, i prefer the V6, much more refined, sounds better and has bags more grunt
If you get a Euro 3 V6 (pre facelift) they can be tuned to around 225-230bhp and then they are a real beast. The Euro 4 facelift does NOT like being tuned at all
oh rite, its a 2006 on a 55 plate?
Blink and you'll miss the difference...
0 to 60mph on hatchback models :
1.9 CDTI 120PS 10.5s
1.9 CDTI 150PS 8.8s
3.0 V6 CDTI 8.3s
The reason the 3.0 V6 CDTI is slightly slower off the mark is not just the weight difference, but also that the turbo kicks in at different revs
Mid-speed the 3.0 V6 CDTI puts the 1.9 CDTI 150PS to shame, at 50mph going from 6th gear to 3rd gear, and the 3.0 V6 CDTI just pulls away
I know, i've got one. I've had the Veccy 1.9CDTi 150 in standard form and with 3 different tuning boxes on it. I've also had a Signum 1.9 CDTi 150 both standard and with a tuning box.
I prefer my 3.0V6 CDTi Euro 4 which will stay untuned for reasons i have given and it is a perfectly capable machine.
It is a better and more reliable engine too
The 3ltr uses alot more fuel than the 1.9CDTI even when the 1.9 is tuned up
Yup, so not tuning that then Unless you want to stump up around 3K when the fuel pump pops
It's still quick enough without though
........not A LOT more Karl, more yes granted but i get 42mpg+ on a "spirited" run and mid 30's around town. My 1.9 was high 30's low 40's round town and high 40's on a run so not a huge difference
