    confused bit of a quandry

    Hi all,
Just been given a budget of £7k by my boss to find myself a motor . The car will be mine to use all the time but, as a business asset, he doesnt want it to plummet in value. His words of advice (i.e. do this) are that i should be able to get an 06 plate or newer. He knowns my love of vectra's although he keeps pushing me towards a passat.
Should i essentially gamble his money getting a pre-facelift vec c (facelifts seem just out the budget for a decent model and i prefer the look of a pre-facelift anyway; just looks meaner i think) knowing that the insignia will drive down prices. or shall i jump ship and go for something that i dont really fancy. Actually i think i know what this forum will say!!
i suppose my question is, will the insignia cause prices of veccies to plummet? I want a diesel, so that should help a little.

Now if anyone can understand all that, i'll be impressed!!

Ask the boss for a car allowance instead, then you can go for what you like.

There is a max height for the middle seat which I think is a medium child whatever size that is! Not suitable for an adult I think. The main reason I did not get one and got my Hatchback 1.9cdti 150 (190)

Is your boss living in the real world..."he doesn't want it to plummet in value".

Name me a car that doesn't plummet in value?

Even Saab's,Bmw's and Mercs fall faster than a speeding bullet. At least the Vectra's are cheap to start with.

    Yes Ed youre right.

You will not on the other hand get a good Passat for 7K.

The Vec is a much better bet for that kind of money.
