6 speed box?

Hi can you please tell me then the petrol signum 2.2 got a 6 speed box

and wot is the diff in the early 2.2 and the later 2.2direct

I could be wrong, but I thought all the siggy 2.2's had a 6 speed as they were all the direct engine.

They all had the direct as only the older 2.2 was in the Vec. About 10bhp difference by the way.

i looked at a 04 plate 2.2 today it had a 5 speed

Early direct Vecs also had the F23 5 speed box so with the Sig being 04 plate that seams to fit the bill. The Direct's a great lump mate, and the 5 speed's tried and tested and is fitted to many cars in the VX range.
