does anyone know if it is possible to change the standard aircon to climate control?

ok. I've got a 7" touch screen and a mini pc.

tochcreen will replace the cd70.

mini pc will go in the boot.

when done I'll have two screens in the headrests for rear passengers.

pc will have dvd, mp3, nav, radio, internet (wifi and gprs), bluetooth, rear cam and will run windows Vista fully and hopefully have full vehicle info available on screen (working on that).

I have some of the components..just gotta get the rest and start making looms etc.

I figure the initial setup (mark 1) will be ready to go in around a month.

what about building the pc into the glove box, and doing the air con mod to keep it cool?

I did a smaller project on my old Passat. there are too many componants to fit in the glove. I'll have it all mounted on an "invisible board" with cooling fans in the boot on both sides where the first aid kit etc goes.

i'll take pics every step of the way and keep you updated.

Major job, probably cheaper \ easier to buy an elite and add the SRi bits to it
