    Default rear electric windows

hi just after a bit of information/help,i have got myself the rear electric window regulators, looms, switches out of an elite for my car,i still have to fit them but was wondering if they would need to be put on tech 2 to enable them?
is there anybody in the know about these things?

    thanks in advance Steve

Definately mate. Nowadays, with the Canbus system, although you have all the correct Vauxhall parts, you have to tell the system that you have installed them. This is done by tech2. A bloke I know fitted front spots on the bumper of his Land Rover. He bought the full kit from the L/R dealer, lights, loom, relay, switch, the lot. Wouldn't work, so he rang them up and they said, "Oh yea, it won't til we tell the system to recognise it , bring it down and we'll stick it on the computer for you.

IMO vauxhall's way of making sure their dealers get all the work for doing anything, and basically cashing in on the modified car scene now its so popular with everyone.

my mk3 astra has electric sunroof, mirrors, grab handles, sun visors, etc. all installed by myself/home job, lord alone knows how much vauxhall would want for it, yet this is what you vectra modders face.

I fitted heated seat pads that were just plug and play once all connections were made. No tech2 required. Have you fited the elite front door controller?
