    Default cracked windscreen

Screen got hit today by a fairly small stone, thrown up by the car infront. It hit about 1/2 way up on the passenger side near the pillar. About 2 miles down the road there is one hell of a bang, and a 6 inch crack appears accross the screen.
    Is this a common problem?

Will have to go check my insurance to see if I'm covered.

The screen isn't shaded at the top, but I'm wondering, is it any more expensive to get the shaded one? Dont have auto wipers/lights so no problem there.

    Will post up pics tomorrow.

    problem?.. no..

the screen was weakened by the stone...so it's not a fault at all...

If you tell you windscreen co to bring the top tint one with them they'll fit it.

in reality it costs no more to supply.. perhaps a tenner...

if you have windscreen cover, nows the time to use it..

windscreen cover is with fully comp insurance, you pay a fixed fee for a new screen. Window company will fit whatever you like and bill insurers, you sign the form to say its like for like replacement and your happy.

Look on your insurance. If you have windscreen cover there is usually a 'w' in the policy number. Your insurance company will confirm anyway

ps: Your cat scares me :-O
