    Default Budget - VED changes

    Shafted again.

My car tax will go up to £300 next year. For a f**kin' Peugeot. I'm steaming. All you who have got VXR's and thought you'd escape the tax rise for having an older one....say goodbye to your discount. The exemption has been removed.

    http://www.hm-treasury.gov.uk/media/...8_chaptera.pdf

Check out this table (page 16) and see just how much we're getting shafted.

    Robbing !!!!

I fell just under the 225g/Km band so am currently in band F and last paid £205. next year I'll pay £210, so not too bad. Then in 2009/10 when the bands all change I'll be in the new band K (201-225 g/Km) and getting shafted for £300!!! Although by then I'll have definitely changed cars anyway, so may as well go for a VXR and hang the expense!! lol

And look at the rates for the VED in the first year of owning a higher emission car!!! FFS, £950 for VXR in it's first year if you bought it new!!

The relevant table to save folks searching the document.....

And I'm sick of the F***ing BBC constantly talking about 'Gas Guzzling' cars. Talk about being up the backside of Labour. My car isn't a 'Gas Guzzler', but I'm getting stiffed anyway.

Why let the facts get in the way of a good story.

Well I guess I'm lucky I escaped the £300 band by one point, (200g/KM for my bus) but even so a £55 increase in one year is taking the ****ing **** !!!
Why does the ordinary man in the street keep putting up with getting shafted again and again !!!
