    Default Car hands free

Searching behind my glove box looking for the best place to mount a handsfree I discovered an 18way connector taped up with an aerial lead can this be utilised in anyway I assume its meant for the VX factory fitted unit or can you buy the factory unit.

That'll be the connector for the hands free.
If you go to dashmount.co.uk, or various other sites you should be able to find an adaptor to connect it to your choice of kit. I believe you can get Nokia and Parrot adaptors at least.

That is the VDA-plug; I think you can have an adaptor for any type

Just get a Star Trek ear piece and hang it on the wiper stalk.

I have discovered with information from SignumPhil there are two leads available one for non sat nav and the other with sat nav the lead numbers are autoleads 06-102 non sat and 06-109b for the cd70 with sat nav, with these leads you can use the 18 way plug directly with Nokia hands free CRK7 or you can use any other hands free with the addition of an extra lead.I actually purchased everthing from a firm called Nexxia in Weston Supermare.

    Hi,

A few months ago i had a Parrot kit fitted to my CD70 NAVI. The kit was from halfords and was £99 in fitting at my home address. I did have to purchase an additional lead which cost about £12 and they sorted it all out for me.

A faultless bit of kit and well worth the money, plus there were no holes to be drilled anywhere.

    Regards, Bullylad.

The problem is that the leads halfords use split the feed and the speaker loom converting it to iso,if you read the blurb deeply these leads should not be used on Vauxhall Opel saab 2002 on because they can fry the radio there is a special lead with a filter built in for this reason.I was speaking to a tech at a vauxhall stealers who said they have upteen cars in with fried radios because of the incorrect fitting of the hands free all explained on the SIO site whether this is correct I don't know but I purchased the proper leads that fit the 18 way connector behind the glove box even these have to have a extra filter for VSO cars and a different lead again if you use the motorola kit.
