    Hi there

I've got a 2.2 '03' sri and mine smokes on cold start.
VX had it for 6 weeks, changed the head, piston rings, fuel pump, fuel rail, ECU and the firking thing is exactly the same.

Vauxhalls basically said put up with it as they'd already spent thousands on it.

My warranty runs out next july, so i'll be booking it in around march. Hopefully by then the regional field engineer will have left as we didn't quite see eye to eye

Crikey, sounds like you need to change dealers there m8. Not all Vx dealers are bad - honest!! Have a look at this thread - see if anyone is mentioned in your area.

Oh, to the site BTW! Pop an introduction into the 'Welcome to....' section. (Edit: Just noticed you already did! )

I previuosly had a 2.2 DTI Omega, and that used 1 litre of oil every 4000 miles

When I suggested to the dealer in Bury, that was excessive, he commented, from VX point of view, that engine is within tolerances if it uses less than 1 litre of oil every 1000 miles

I check my 2.0 DTI regularly
