    Unhappy Oil in fuel tank

    Hi,got 2.2 dti & Just been told might need a new fuel pump(vp-44) at £2000,found oil in fuel tank & i was 2 litres of oil short in engine,only went in to get it check as if left a day will start then stop but start 2-3 mins later then run fine!!
    any advice very welcome

    a certain amount of fuel goes back to the fuel tank if a internal seal in pump has gone then engine oil will also be returned to the tank...sounds like a new pump to me

    No clue about the issue mate...sorry...but the 2000 that you mention sounds nasty Hope it`s not the fuel pump

    How often do you check your oil, Just trying to work out how bad it is because a little bit of oil in the fuel wont hurt it but it depends over what sort of period.

    To be honest not that regular,last checked about last august,i've had leak off pipes done last year so getting injector seals done soon to see if that cures it!!

    Last august!!!!...OMG..

    you really need to at least look at it every couple of weeks...

    it is the injector seals that turn the fuel black

    Yes i know i should check it more regular and will do from now on!+ i was shown a jar of my fuel and indeed it was black so fingers cross not pump just the seals
    thanks for the advice guys!!
