Default Signum 2.0T. Couple of questions???

Just bought a 53 reg 2.0 Turbo Signum. Great car, loads of space but a little on the thirsty side.

Averaging about 23mpg increases a little with motorway driving but not much. I had a T reg Astra a while ago that didnt warm up properly had it fixed under warranty and the fuel consumption was better.

The engine runs at a steady 85 C, every Vauxhall i have had in the past ran at 90C. Do u think this could be the problem?

Also outside temp is showing either "F" or -35C. Sensor problem?

    Cheers

Sounds about what I get from my 3.2 V6. Get,s worse if my right foot gets heavy though.

Figures sound about right. I have a 2.0T Vectra which is a little more economical than yours, but it is lighter and slightly more aerodynamic than your Siggy.

I'll get around 30/31 on a long motorway run, around 26/27 combined and can drop to 22 on just town driving - so if you're not getting much more than around 24 even on a long run, then it doesn't sound quite right. Those figures BTW are based on my averages over a length of time - when I had the BSR Stage 1, but they didn't really change from having it as standard.

Not even when you are stuck in traffic for a while. my 3.2 will go to 100 if I am in traffic for a while, but normal is about 85 to 87.5. It might be that your thermostate needs changing?

Mine sits bang on 85C virtually all the time. Very occasionally it'll edge up between 85 and 90 on a warm day or after a spirited run, or it'll touch 90 if stuck in traffic. I've never seen it past 90 ever.

Same as Duncan. My old Astra 1.4 used to go up to 100 in traffic, but my Vectra never does.
