Petty cops?????

Sorry to the police on here but i sometimes think some of them do get the "jobs worth" hats on when they are bored.

My sisters sister-in-law heard her mobile phone ring whilst going to the hospital to visit my Mum and pulled over into a pub car park. She had not answered the phone but let it ring off. When she stopped she looked to see who had been ringing in case it had anything to do with visiting as my Mum had had another operation yesterday. As she started to dial the caller she heard a tap on the window. A policeman asked her what she was doing and when she explained he cautioned her and issued a summons for a £60 fine with 3 points
To say she is gobsmacked is an understatement. She had stopped, the handbrake was on and the car was not in gear. He said that as the engine was running she was not in full control of the vehicle If it was not so serious it would be laughable.
Perhaps some of the more sensible officers on here might offer their advice as to whether she should fight the summons and the best way to handle it.

Take aforementioned mobile.

Don't use lubrication.

Insert into aforementioned Police officer.

I know the majority are good as gold, but I also thought there was an inteligence test to join the police?

well all i can say say tony thats hellish to say the least. what a a total pratt on xmass eve aswell i would see the point if she was driving but that is just not on imo . hope 2008 brings better luck to you and your family mate all best and try and have a nice christmas

Sorry to hear about this mate just goes to show the fools that allowed into the police, yes he was doing his duty, but common sense should have prevailed in this matter. She's got to fight it as it's a pile O'****e.

I know it seem's OTT, but if i was in this situation i would be taking it all the way.
