Signum on board computer....

Hi all ,

Think the on board computer is playing up in my Signum 06 Plate. Every now and again, say 2 or 3 times a week, the "Check Left Brake Light" warning comes on in the dash disply. On Checking the bulb, all is fine. Any ideas??
It also throws a wobbly on the range comptuer, saying it is doing 10mpg @ 70 mph (its a CDTi). Again, any ideas??

Take the bulb out & make sure it & the contacts are clean - that make solve the warning problem - Is the 10 mpg down to the particulate filter cleaning itself??

The mad reading on your fuel consumption is more than likely the DPF regenerating, and it's completely normal.

The bulb check is probably a loose connection somewhere.....if the bulb's securely in its holder and there's nothing obvious, take it back in and get them to check it under warranty.

The particulate filter was changed about amonth ago because the dealer did not have any in stock when I bought the car. Its a pain in the a**e. With regards to the bulb, I cleaned the contacts and replaced it with the one from the offside brake light - to no avail!

- the particulate filter (DPF) is an integral part of the exhaust! Are you meaning pollen filter?

he 'could' be meaning they couldn't do the recall work as they ( VX) where out of stock of DPF's...?????? Our 150 had a new DPF as part of it's recall

What I meant was, the fuel filter was replaced and the DPF was supposedly cleaned by a grease monkey about a month ago.

Been working nights fellas so give me a chance to wake up!
