...but when I was getting in to the car this evening, the weather strip of the off-side rear door caught my eye. At either end of the weather strip on all the doors is a small rubber 'cap'. One of them seems to have come loose, now as all the others are firmly attached this got me to thinking "Oh no, some little b$gger has been having a go during the night and given up after he noticed the alarm"... It won't push back on properly for love nor money, I'm wondering if this is going to cause a problem?

You've probably just caught it some how getting in and out the car ??

I doubt anyones tampered with it as only a muppet would try and get in it through there.......................but with the world the way it is today you never know.

Yeah I agree. There are no tool marks or anything on the adjacent trim so most likely caught it as Spoons says. As you say though, these thieving low lifes aren't always the brightest of people!

I've had one of those caps come loose on the edge of the front passenger door. Just pushing/forcing it back in place didn't hold for too long, so I superglued it carefully back in place. Doesn't move now! . Either me or the first owner must have caught it when opening/closing the door. And yes, you are paranoid. It's quite normal.

Now if your door fell off, that would be a problem....seriously though I know exactly what you mean.

The inner 'lugs' in the cap ends don't seem to hold the cap in that tightly IMO.

I considered that too!

...mind you it didn't look too bad intitially, before I 'aggrivated' it a little too see if I could get it back in
