You won't need a new bumper, it can be filled, then smoothed down, and resprayed. No more than £250, a lot less if you can find a friendly garage.

Lol, love the way a thread about bumper damage can turn into a thread about washing machines!

Thanks for the advice Andrew, I'll look into it.

Thankfully the scratches on my bumper are just on the surface and not too deep at all. Hopefully they'll be filled in easily enough.

I might attempt the repair myself (always did in the past) and go to the pros if it's not too good a finish.

Another little trick is to get one of the kids crayons out in a matching colour, covers it up for a while.

    Cheers vectramat,

I prefer the look of the SRi bumpers to mine anyway, are they just a straight fit? My car is a 2004 model and has the square fog lights.

ah my bad, thought yours was a facelift for some reason, ive found this one that matches yours:

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VAUXHALL-VECTR...QQcmdZViewItem

But if your after an SRi bumper then this is the one you need, hurry theres only one day left and NO RESERVE!

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VAUXHALL-VECTR...QQcmdZViewItem

Or this guy has a choice of standard and sri bumpers at a buy it now price of £30

Obviously all the above would need painting to match your car but if you know the right people

    Hope this helps buddy!

Great stuff, thanks for the help.

Had a quote of £117 today to repair my damage, buying a new one and getting a respray locally look like a good option, especially if it means an SRi upgrade.
