Did you check the fuse? Maybe the pump is a goner but that makes some noise before dying.
The power steering pump had to be replaced. I was billed for a pump, the fluid, and power steering piping/hosing, and programming/tech2... They fixed it and it drives good now. No dashboard light.
Wow guys! It's been more than a month since the last major garage visit, and the car has been running completely without problem. As I have said in this long diary thread before, when this car is working it is working very well and I am very happy with it. It's a keeper for sure. Imagine this guy is getting 10.0L/100km mixed, on a good highway stretch I have seen it get as low as 5.0L/100km.
That's the vectra c we all know and love/hate... when they are running faultlessly they are simply brilliant.
Told you, good cruiser when it works
It's been a while since I posted. I have zero problems since I last posted. And I was able to put more than 1500 kilometers with an awesome road trip to Italy, Slovenia, and Croatia and this car has been dream. I have basically carried all of the necessary repairs to get this car back into a reliable state.
Now this week I have sent the car to a respected garage to get the CDC shock absorbers refurbished on all 4 wheels and to get the front 2 springs replaced. I am excited I am now looking forward to really nice and smooth ride. And finally I can fix those damn leaking shocks.
In the end I spent a lot of money on the car. But honestly I love the Vectra. My mechanic gave me an 2010 Astra J hatchback with the gasoline NA 1.6 with 115 hp automatic transmission and honestly now driving a different, newer car I get the feeling that I may never find another car that feels as good to drive as my 3.0 V6 Vectra.
