Vectra C loss of power & misfire
Somebody please tell me what's going on with vectra c 2007 1.8 petrol! Couple of days ago it started to lose power and misfiring. Got it started again. It drove about 2 mins down the road before it just wouldn't go anymore. Rough idle, misfiring when revving. The spark plugs were replaced about 2 months ago. I change the coil pack yesterday, no luck. Plugged it in and it was showing as P0100/maf sensor. I went and bought a new one today, fitted it, still the same issue. Checked all the pipes, no breaks/splits. Going to buy new spark plugs tomorrow. Would a faulty coil pack fry the spark plugs? Could it still be coil pack if computer is detecting an issue with the maf? Honestly I'm at a loss and can't afford to keep throwing money at it but I need my car working like yesterday!

I'd rather go checking fuel filter, fuel pressure and depending on results fuel pump.

Fuel pump was just changed two weeks ago. Fuel is coming through fine. Fuel lines have been checked. Fuel filter was on my list of things to replace before all this started happening so it probably does need replacing but I'm not sure it what cause the issues I'm having. Like I said, fuel is getting through.

Well, nothing about pressure or debit/flow...appreciating these parameters by plain eye-sighting could be deceiving especially by lacking a relevant experience...just saying.

If the engine Temperature sensor fails (mounted at the rear of the thermostat housing) all sorts of problems can arise, without a engine management warning being thrown up. They are only around £10.
They can change value, or go open circuit.

When my crank sensor was on the way out, it took a while before it coded. Drove horribly in the interim

I'm just at a complete loss now. Engine will now turn over, it starts to rev and then just dies after a lot of engine shaking and misfiring. Before, if I left it at idle, it would steady out. It was only when pressing accelerator I had an issue. Now it just dies 30 secs after engine turning on. I've noticed the fan is coming on with ignition and then will go straight off again. It will also come on as soon as the engine is on but the engine is cold. Could this be a sensor issue? I'm not in a position where I can keep firing parts at it in the hope it will go. Could still be a fuel filter issue but without testing it I can't really gauge what the fuel pressure is. It does seem to be working OK though as it's firing out.

Timing? When was belt / tensioner changed?
Know anyone with a compression tester? Rules out anything serious….
How’s the air intake / air box below the filter? Any leaves? Filter good? Brand new MAF sensor or 2nd hand? Wiring damage / bent pins at connector?
Outside possibility……cross threaded spark plug?
Why a new fuel pump but not filter as well?
I dunno mate, all the symptoms fit with being MAF related and you had that code.

TBH this seems very likely especially with fan issue. Good luck anyways. Hopefully you get it resolved.

Air is good. No blockages at all. Wiring is all good on maf. It was a brand new one from Euro. I made sure of that because I read that any of the cheapo ebay ones don't work.
Fuel filter should have been changed. It was literally the next thing on my to do list before all this started happening. One has been ordered and on it's way. I'm leaning more towards the sensor. Going to pick a new one up tomorrow so will update then. We tried bridging the connection and that's when it improved but then it just decided to get 10x worse after that. I just don't get why there's no warning lights and no pending codes
