    Default One misfire per trip

    Hi all,

I get one misfire per drive of the car, Any gear at about 3000rpm, I suspect at a guess it's the fuel pump but after it's done it's one cough it's fine for the rest of the journey and revs all the way to the red line without any power issues, that would suggest it's not the pump??

No warning lights and I know that if I go to drive the car again I'll have a another misfire, then it will go away after it's done it.

Does that sound like something else? What symptoms does the fuel pressure regulator have?

    Thanks

the first thing I would do is readout the ecu...to see if rhe misfire occurs on the same cylinder everytime.

If it jumps around than chances are it's the pump.. but in most cases a misfire on the same cylinder means a leaking or faulty injector/ spark plug

So to rule out the pump you need to know where the misfire occurs... the ecu wil log it as an error.

Also read the previous issues in the troubleshooting section then you’ll be able to match your symptoms to others.

    Hi Skidmark,

Today EML came up and it started running rough, i managed to pull over and check the code "Misfire Cylinder 4" cleared the code and it went back to normal, I dropped it in to my local garage at work and reported the code to them, they are currently looking.

    Thanks all.

******, garage reckons it's the pump as the code came up in the scan, I'll have to source one. £600 quid I didn't bank on

when my pump went it went straight into limp mode, it would rev but not pull the skin off a rice pudding, changed the pump and the regulator for piece of mind as car had done 85k at the time.

Would that be fault code P1191 - fuel pressure low?

    Hi Dave,

It was a general independent garage that doesn't know Vauxhall's specifically, he said it was a code related to the fuel pump but I'm getting a second opinion from a Vauxhall specialist next week.

I want to get a pump from the guys in Poland if it is the pump, it sounds like they have a working solution.

    Cheers
