    Default Hi there

    Hi.

I have Vectra C for 10 years now.

Never did anything myself as I always was servicing it at Vauxhall. Today I tried to replace glow plugs. Well, that didnt went well. One of them snappped.

I found post here on the forum which says I can still ride the car with the snapped plug but I think I will buy the glow plug removal tool. I will have a look on the forum - anyway - just saying - Hi

Welcome yes glowplugs can be a pain in the backside but you either use a proper removal tool or just leave it be and wait for it to come out by itself... i would actually use a removal tool the plugs are only used when it's cold anyway and these days it's to warm in the morning for the car to use them unless you live somewhere where the temperature in the mornings is always below 10C...

    I ordered this tool -

    https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/GLOW-PLUG...m2749.l2649And

and here I found video how to use it:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g9mH5fdAeqU

Do you think the tool is ok or some cheep rubbish?

I replaced today another glow plug so 2 done, 1 snapped and 1 to go. The last one I was able to unscrew but I cannot take it out. I tried to take it out with pliers but I was afraid to break it, so I screwed it back in. I applied WD-40 before I screwed it in so hopefully next time it will come out. Somebody had a similar problem?

BTW do you clean the inside plug hole with something or just simple replacement will do? I found some brushes on ebay but not sure if worth to buy it for 13 years old car and one job only.

Sorry if this area is not for asking such questions
