My old 53 plate Vectra 2.2 petrol only had 36,000 miles on the clock when it got written off. I was putting in a litre of oil every 2000 miles.
It's replacement, a 06 plate Vectra 2.2 petrol had done approx. 106,000 miles when that also got written off. The engine in this one didn't use a drop of oil between 10,000 mile services. It remained on the max mark of the dipstick.
In short, no two engines are ever the same.

if it's a petrol you need to find a 2.0t cheaply and use that sell this one off or sell it to the scrappy (if driven in you might get 250) anyway all in all if i had a petrol engined car that uses so much oil it would be retired early and replaced with something with less oil consumption... I don't even get that they deemed it as normal... 1 litre of oil that seems to disappear without an oil leak at every 1000 miles, just tells me they used inferior piston rings... they should've changed them on a recall.

Handbook quotes it as 0.6 litres per 1000km, which works out to approx. 1 litre per 1000 miles. This has been the value Vauxhall have quoted for many years now.

Yes that it is Darklord. It was always an amazing sight to see in flight. The one in the pic is preserved at Robin Hood airport. None flying now though more is the pity.

I just looked closely at the details on the oil consumption... now i know why people swap the 2.0t for the saab B204 engines... at least those don't have an oil consumption that high( plus for some reason they are stronger so can be pushed further tuning wise)

Magnificent plane, seen one at airshow a few years back. Great documentary about them on YouTube.
That, and the Lockheed Constellation, and the Lockheed Lightening - beautiful aircraft. Oh, and not forgetting Concorde.

I went to the caldrose air show probably about 8 years ago now and a Vulcan Bomber was there, it came in low and went near vertical right over our heads the noise was absolutely incredible and made every child in the crowd cry instantly lol.
