    Vehicle : vectra 2007

    Trim : sri

    Engine : z18xer

    Year : 2007

    Default Fuel consumption, 1.8 VVT

Just wondering, if my fuel consumption is "Normal" with a mix of short & long runs & living in a rural area, so not too many traffic jams, I get in the summer, about 42.8 MPG, & in the winter, 42.2 MPG.

I wonder if other 1.8 VVT owners, would share, their results?
Thanks. Mine is a 2007 Hatch, SRI BTW.

I think when I had mine and a heavy foot it was anywhere from 34-40 so you've done really well with yours! Admittedly my daily route was A roads with lots of traffic/stop starting

Try to average 40 with a similar driving profile to yours, so you're doing well. Best ever around 46mpg on a long run at 60 ish

I'm not quite into that MPG, but in the winter my 2006 Estate runs 10,1 km/l on bad days and just over 12 on good days.
In the summer cruising at 80-100km/t it runs around 14km/l.
I think it's absolutely ridiculous! Have considered resetting the ECU, but haven't come that far yet.

    That is pretty bad.....
When I first had the car, it was only doing 36mpg, but then I discovered the Thermostat & Temp sensor, both needed replacement - it then went to the figures I now obtain (42 ish), note, unlike SOME cars - I found the heater still worked OK, even though there were faults in the "Stat" area. Though, I suspect if I did lots of short runs, now the weather had become colder - the MPG would drop. Not so likely now I'm retired...

How did you figure that out? I'm guessing it's the coolant temp sensor you are referring to? Do you a partnumber for that?

I changed the thermostat some years ago. To begin with the gauge said 90 degress, but for about a year now it sits on 92 degrees when running. I haven't checked for more temp.readings in BC, but I guess there's more than one(?)

https://www.vectra-c.com/forum/showt...ay-(-Test-Mode) This link, tells you about the secret menu, & how to find the ACTUAL engine temp - which is, or should be about 100deg - the gauge on the panel, is handy for showing low temps, but lies about the higher ones! Never known them to go above 92deg.
By the sound of it, your temp is fine.....
