Default reuse the oem gps antenna?

im wondering if anyone knows if you can make use of the gps antenna built into the car if you previously had a cd70 navi on an aftermarket head unit - my clarion unit has the same color and connector for the gps antenna but i would have to purchase a fakra extension as the right angle connector on the cars loom will not connect to my head unit due to the fakra connection being recessed,

just curious as it would save me running a gps antenna if it can be used.

all GPS aerials are the same so if you can get a fakra extension than get it... the difference is in the hardware chip that is in the radio. And i haven't seen a difference yet in the aerials that are used in cars if they are wired... when they connect wireless (usually over BT) than the aerial has the chip in it and than it makes a difference concerning location accuracy and how fast BT the system connects to the hardware in your headunit... ( bt- protocols, and the GPS hardware chip protocols are a factor here)
