The forum which discusses all types of diagnostic equipment had a failure of the main hard drive and the back up drive at 10:30 on Saturday night.

New drives have been installed and all the operating system is in place.
There is an issue at the moment getting the forum to see the database.

Despite early concerns that all the data from the 6 1/2 year old forum had been lost.

I was advised by the main Admin that the back up data survived.
So despite being down for almost a week, nothing will have been lost.

As with all forums including this one.
OpComusers does not endorse or recommend clone devices, it merely gives programming procedures and technical assistance to members - both private enthusiasts and motor-trade personnel.

    I hope that helps.

    Also just for info.
Even General Motors in Maryland USA visit the forum from time to time, and as yet, have never felt cause for complaint or concern.

I suppose GM will not be bothered now, seeing as Vauxhall is now part of Peugeot (PSA) and not GM.

    Yes it is recoverable.

I had a look at the database and drive contents via ftp, and it is all there.
Looked at a lot of the guides and How 2s and they are also fully intact.

The issue that the team are having, is getting the forum to see the database.

It was news to me to be told that it is very common for forum hosting sites to need to renew their drives every 2 to 3 years to prevent failures.
It appears that the last two drives (main and back-up) had been running for about 5 years, so we had done well.

The guys advise that they are working hard to resolve the issue, but 'admin' feels that it is just something silly and almost insignificant that he has overlooked.

I will post as soon as I hear anything, as I know a lot of friendly names from Vectra-C.com use our site on a regular basis.

At the moment the Opcomusers team are keeping in touch via the VxON message board and Whatsapp and Messenger.
