New Vectra C owner in Lanarkshire
Hi All,
I recently inherited a blue 2008 Vectra C with a 1.9 150bhp engine and wee SRI badges on the sides.
It had spent about six years being used as a mobile dog kennel and took 11 hours to clean. I half filled a wheely bin with dog hair. I wish I was exaggerating but I'm not!
Then it went to the garage for new springs, new drop links, new d bushes, timing belt kit and a new starter motor. It now drives like a new car.
Its the first non 4x4 I have owned in a very long time. Really strange to be lying down on the road. Also strange not to hear the rumble of M+S tyres. Apart from that it seems to be very responsive and handles really well. A long way off of the absolutely awful Corsa that work hired for me once.
Now my job is to replace the stereo with something less guff. I already replaced the CD30 with a CDC40 before discovering that despite being marked with AUX pins the CDC40 aux doesn't work unless its talking to a DAB unit. Schoolboy error; should have done more research. The screen is better though.
Also I need to source some wheels to put winter tyres on as I'm likely going to take it to Switzerland in January. There is a set of Signum 17" wheels available locally which take the same tyre size. I'm guessing those will fit my Vectra?
