trying to sell my car,have advertised it on ebay 3 times and not one bid,what takes the p*** is i had 13 watchers,what is the point of watching an item if you have no intention of buying,what makes it worse i advertised the car at a start price that i would get for if i part exed the car,and i left the private plate worth £600 or more

what i want to know what do i have to do to sell a f****** car on ebay without giving it away

rant over and i wont be selling my car on ebay again

We had a tough time trying to sell an alfa 166 on ebay. this was in 2005 and a T reg 2.5V6 with all the toys, listed at £1750 to get it going and not a single bid.

I can see two potential problems there on that auction matey -

1. The MOT runs out in May, so potential buyers may think you're getting rid as you know it'll fail.

2. The pictures of the car from the outside show the wheels nearly straight. Yet the interior picture shows the steering wheel upside down.

Petty I know, but people expect a bargain on eBay these days.

the mot i have listed as running out april 08,mind you that is wrong cos it runs out may 08,as to the wheels,if you look at the car the wheels are pointing slightly to the left explaining why the steering wheel is not straight,and that can also be seen from the front view as well

Can I suggest the free ads. I put my car on at 1 o clock and it was gone at 7 o clock and sold at only £100 less than asking price, and the bonus is it doesn't cost you a penny.

i found i had more luck putting a for sale sign on my car than ebay......most ppl want to buy cheap on ebay IMO

Come on, just because you list it doesn't mean you're going to sell it. Clearly people either don't think it is the bargain you say it is, or are not really interested in a Vectra off Ebay.

Who is going to buy a car for circa 8K off Ebay without even looking at it?? I wouldn't.

Ebay is not the place to sell cars of this nature IMO, I'd try a more appropriate venue to be honest.
