I can't be sure when my membership actually expires, i can't find the info in my profile but i do know its on my members card that i never carry with me. I remember my membership renewal date was always c0cked up royally when Herr Dundan used to pop in here once or twice a year to do his infamous condesending multi quote posts.... Can you add a function to all non staff profiles to show the expiry dates of the current paid subscriptions?

I am not sure I need a VIP membership now though as i have no need for a bigger PM mailbox or a tax disc thingy.. I like the move to add additonal features etc but will look forward to further enhancements. I am not so fussed about VIP chatrooms as i don't really want a split in the forum users over and above what we already have... I think the forum works really well right now, i have been to other places which have the hidden VIP areas and they are predominantly surfed by leets.... I am not knocking it, honestly, this forum has gone from strength to strength since the current management team took over.

100% agree with this. I look forward to any new perks/improvements, but a separate VIP area can only lead to problems in my mind.

Any VIP perks I feel should be things that are an incentive to make you want to pay more to support the club, without risking dividing the members. Things like special username styles, forum themes, or access to unique VIP merchandise are incentives that everybody could take advantage of, if they wish, but wouldn't leave other members feeling that they were being left out.

when i first heard about this scheme it made me think that this is creating another division within vec -c

I don't think there is a need for a VIP lounge, as others have said, I would rather there were other benefits.

I miss the opportunity of a larger mailbox and would have hoped that the mailbox offered to "standard member traders" could have been increased for "VIP member traders" in the same way that it is for changing from normal member to full member.

Not wishing to stir anything up, just making a point as someone involved

Oh and of course, the annual Christmas Free Bar for VIP Members is always a welcome option

Personally I don't like the use of the term "VIP" at all, I don't understand how paying a couple of quid extra entitles people to become (at least visibly on the forum) a "Very Important Person" on the forum, at least in appearance, to new/inexperienced members.

I would have preferred a "Gold membership" status or something along those lines, however, the running of Vec-C is a democracy so VIP it is.

As something of an aside, having renewed my membership today, I noticed that the subsequent welcome email received still contains mention of Voldemo....sorry, he who should not me named. I'm assuming that he doesn't really have anything to do with the club any more, perhaps this is something that needs updated?

Question! I'm going to join up as a vip member, really appreciate what the Admin/Mods to here and having done a similar thing on a gaming site I know these things don't look after themselves! Anyway the question....

I chose my name in rush one day and see that when a member I can change it once a year. So I would like to know if I can join and delay anything that may include my name, tax disc etc and receive them once I've decided on a new one?

On the VIP thing.........The lounge will only serve to make the majority feel left out. I also think Ian-Highlander makes a very good point.
