    Default Problem after ECU update

Last service car got the new ECU update and ever since then the car has suffered from surging (pulling away from you) It mainly happens from pulling away quickly from a junction or lights and mainly 2nd to 3rd.

What happens is you give it some beans and revs are above 4k and then change gear but leave off accelerator the car thinks your booting it and rev matches, but you are no longer doing so! So cars revs are high and car then surges once you lift off clutch.

I have spoke with dealership but they just fob me off

I know I should drive more like miss daisy but there are times when you need to pull away quickly then resume normal driving. But this surge makes it extremely dangerous at times, as you are in 2nd and relax revs to change to 3rd and car just pulls away from you.

    Anyone else had this?

I dont have a fancy Insignia, but my 1.8VVt surges between gears, i.e. it holds the revs.

It has been mentioned on here that if you have a towing kit fitted to the car, that it does it to help gear changes when towing. How much of this is true, I dont know??

Only way to get them to sort it out is report it to them, consider an independant assessment by the likes of the AA or RAC and have it noted as dangerous. Then start and do some advertising about the fact you have paid £XXXX and the car is un-driveable.
