Default What's the largest AH battery type I can fit in my 3.2 ?

    Hi guys.

My battery failed me yesterday while carrying out a small amount of work, I think I had my radio on for about 20 minutes at the time, and the battery wasn't having it when trying to restart.

The Comfort unit shows the battery is charging and the Voltage is around 13.5 volts when driving, but it also shows how quickly it drops to below 50% charge. Anyway, and so I am off to get it tested at Halfords later today.

If it is past its selly by date, I would like to get an uprated replacement fitted to try to leave me a little more capacity to play with. Does anyone know if I can get a Bosch 100ah battery in the battery bay (or bigger) and if so what type number do I need to look for ?

    Cheers

Mine has a Bosch battery from Amazon, 74AH, the battery is correct fitment for the 3.0CDTI. Still a lot of space in the battery tray for a bigger one.

Thanks mate, yes I'm fairly sure that is what is in the car now, but as there is loads of space available, was wondering what the biggest one was that will still fit and clamp in

Most batteries for the Vectra are 175mm x 175mm end plate size.
The length can be 295mm with the moving slider in place and 320mm with the moving slider removed, AFAIR.
It would be interesting to find out if an even longer one would actually fit in, an 017/019 is about 353mm long, and the 017 is 190mm high.

I've got this fitted, can't remember the AH rating, but it's 800CCA

Thanks Ian, I can't read the battery type from the photo, when you get the chance to take a look, I'd appreciate you letting me know and I'll do a bit more research.

Had a rummage through my emails and found it: http://www.battery2u.co.uk/type-110-...18-silver.aspx

It's an 85AH but with a 800CCA rating and has gone down in price to £80 (gits lol).
