I sold my lovely modded hornet last year (did all the mods myself)
Need to sell the o/h's CB500 - any takers?

Just do what I did.
I had been off bikes for a few years and eventually persuaded the wife to allow me to get a wee ZX6R to commute on. Soon got bored of that and decided a litre plus was the way to go.
It took ages for me to persuade her that it was a good idea and eventually, one afternoon she grudgingly came along with me to Perth to have a look around some dealers. She laid down a few rules regarding the purchase, one of which was "it has to be a sports tourer comfortable enough for me to ride pillion on".
So eventually we found a mint CBR1100X Blackbird in black. low mileage, picky previous owner and we decided to go for it. Got a good trade in for my ZX6 and left, intending on going back to pick it up the following Monday after it was serviced etc.
The plan was I would be run up in the car by my mate and come back on the bike on the Monday.
When we arrived up at Drysdale Motorcycles, we parked up and walked up to the front door.
"I've always liked those" said my mate, pointing at two Aprilia RSV's sat outside on the forecourt.
I looked at the first one and thought "Aye, thats nice" and then spotted the red one next to it.
I was hooked there and then!!!
Walked in and said I had changed my mind. The price of the Mille was the same as the Honda, so it was just a case of jiggering around with the new paperwork.
I'll always remember my mates face, he kept saying "I cant believe you are going to do this, she will kill you!!!".
Also, the words the mechanic said when he came out to go over the bike with me before I left.....
"Ever had a big V-Twin before?"
"Nope...?" I said.
He just broke into a huge grin and said "You will ride away from here and until you get out of the city, you will think "Why on earth did I buy this thing?!!", but when you get out onto the open roads, you will know why you bought it, trust me!!".
Got home after an eventfull ride back, could not stop grinning and whooping away to myself inside the helmet everytime I cracked the throttle open and heard the roar of the twin.
Wife came out and did a double take. Several, actually.
"What is that?".
"Errrrr........" I started to try and explain.
"It looks gorgeous!!!" she said.
Phewww!!!
She goes pillion on it every once in a while with no problems. We toured Scotland on it last year and considering its an out and out superbike, it was pretty comfortable.
Couple of pics of our stop off in Ullapool:-
Ardmair bay, look at the nutter in the background. This mad ****er was in there for a ****** swim!!!.
Ullapool harbour:-
Our B&B at Corry Lodge, 1 mile outside Ullapool ( £3 for a taxi to the pub, driven by a mad woman who usually works offshore on the rigs ) :-
The wee cabin in the background was what we had as accomodation. Living area/kitchen plus two en-suite double rooms. The breakfast was amazing. I would highly recommend this B&B if anyone is going up there in the near future, Mrs Butler, the owner welcomes bikers, her son owns 5 bikes atm.
£22 per head, per night. Canny go wrong. Awesome breakfast!!!.
On the way back home at Aviemore, photo is in black and white cause the missus took it and had her finger over the metering sensor on the camera.
If anyone wants any info on Aprilia RSV's, fire away, theres not much I dont know about these bikes!!!.
Had a Mille R, VTR, Speed Triple, Fireblade and the current steed. Mile R was a great bike and a good laugh but a bit too tempremental for me. Had a full race system, remap etc on it but it spent its life egging me on to go faster!!
The current bike has a full Akropovic titanium race system, BMC race filter, Dynojet USB box, race velocity stacks and almost 200 BHP at the crank. Jeeeeesus it's fun!!!
You have not experienced acceleration like it, unbelievable!!
By the way, the picture on the left is an old one.
My RSV has also evolved over the past few years.
It has an Evo race airkit, Blueflame can and MRO Aprilia Challenge race series ECU chip fitted.
Awesome sound, *grunt* on the road is awesome!!!.
Want one.... Want one..... Want one.......
