Default Rattling Heat Shield - Rear silencer

Hi All, Any advice on how the rear heat shield is supposed to be fixed to the car, I changed the rear bumper and guess I knocked it as ever since the Heat Shield has been rattling against the bumper/exhaust most noticed when going over bumps etc. Is it really a big deal just to remove it or cut it out? The rattle seems to be more prominent at the wheel arch lining.

Screw it back on or pull it off completely.

Cheers, i'll prob just pull it out, unless someone thinks it should stay in? It seems to be attached at the top of the shield but where is drops between the arch and the exhaust is the problem.

Ok, in two minds now. I'll take a better look at the weekend. I'm just not sure how its supposed to be attached to the car. Does it attach to the plastic wheel arch lining?

The wheel arch lining is fine, its the metal heat shield behind it that's the problem. If it only attaches to the underside of the car then It seems to be ok then. It's the vertical section that drops down between the exhaust and plastic lining that's the problem. I've got a feeling that I'm going to trim it down to create more clearance between the lining, heat shield and exhaust.

some places underneath i couldnt get to with drill
Just drill fresh holes and use big washers with self tappers like @Critch says
Make sure nothing behind where you gana drill
Its easy to trim with tin snips if its to awkward to drill and repair
