I heard today of a man a while ago getting sent down for 5 months for doing 157mph on a motorway.
apparently that guy in the porker had gone into work and resigned that morning - then decided to seal the deal by taking the car
Naughty Naughty
172mph,could have rounded it off a bit like 180mph.i like nice round figures.
Don't know where it was etc - silly guy to take the car in the first place, more stupid to get caught. Assume we're talking about TWOCing, Exceeding the statutory speed limit, etc. Definitely looking at a custodial sentence (effectively mandatory above 125mph). Not nice, but if you can't do the crime...
Maybe the stupid anti-speeding campaigner Jools Whatshisface (who had a rant against Clarkson saying Speed Kills on Sunday... www.brake.org) should campaign to ban the movie "Ferris Bueller's Day Off", as the similarites to to the Porsche guy are uncanny
I have to admit that I could have been in that situation once... but when you ride a 170+mph bike (or drive the car, as this guy did) it's all too tempting. Never done it on an A-road tho'.
I remember the guy in the M3... I was surprised it wasn't his "HM issue ankle bracelet" that didn't get him caught!
Custodial sentence, no chance as they don't even put sex offenders inside due to the new rules. Prisons are full so it will be massive fine and a 5 year ban or something. If he does get a sentence then that will cause a massive stink after last weeks court fiasco.
Wonder what the thoughts were of the officer doing the laser trap?
