Vectra C Brake Pad warning light help

Hiya guys, Since I have owned my 2.2 Direct the pad wear sensor has been on, inspected all pads and they are nearly new, I am trying to locate a sensor wear cable and cannot find one (Hence why the light is on) Can anybody shed any light as to where the connector might be? Cheers

should be on the passenger front wheel, maybe they have unplugged it, mine was damaged so for now i have just bridged the 2 wires to turn it off

Are you sure it's the brake pad wear light? At some point the warning light was dropped on the Vectra-C.
My 2006 2.2 Direct Vec-C elite doesn't have it, but can't remember when the feature was dropped.

For some weird reason there is no cable there, im wanting to order a new one but not sure where the connector is to plug it into the car lol!
Its deffo the brake pad sensor light:

There should be a plug with nothing in it if its been removed. you can simply shove a wire in the two terminals to link it out. This will put the light out. Or just buy a new sensor.

On my car the front nearside has the pad sensor, just to the right off the strut there is two cables fixed to the arch inner, the left one is the pad warning cable (from here is where yours must be missing) and the right one is for ABS.

It's wired to the left front pad.

However, the warning light can appear for three reasons :

- If the pad is worn (please keep in mind the inner pads wear much faster than the outer ones, and since checking them is far less easy, a lot of people, including myself and most garages, just check the most accessible one and think it's OK while it's not. I had my rear inner pads metal plate scraping the discs, while the outer ones were still OK) ;

- The sensor cable is unplugged or cut ;

- Your brake fluid level is low. It's the same warning light ! You should check your brake fluid tank and if the level is under the minimum mark, check for leaks somewhere.

I had a leak at the ABS block after the garage messed up with a replacement pipe (they destroyed the original one's threading while trying to unscrew one of the hoses), so it had to be remade (the hard pipes aren't sold as parts, they're made out of straight pipe sold by the length, even from GM, and shaped on purpose).

If your brakes pipes have never been touched, maybe one of your hoses has been rubbed by a wheel and has been pierced ?

Thanks for all your help guys, there is plenty of fluid there as there is no cable there im pretty much certain that the cable is the problem I just need to try and locate the socket to plug a new one into, ill have a look around areas given it must be there somewhere. Thanks guys

- Your brake fluid level is low. It's the same warning light !

Low brake fluid light is the same one as the handbrake light, not the low brake pad warning symbol.

Just had a look at mine yesterday--done a brake service and i have no brake pad sensors fitted! either side!! not too worried as its less to worry about.I run a 58 Sri veccy-1.8vvt--one of the last one's to be made i think----Dave
